Not even a brief rainstorm could dampen the enthusiasm of children and others gathered August 12 for the groundbreaking of the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion. The 10-story, $385 million hospital, slated to open in 2019, will be an iconic landmark in Charleston, say the architects. Parents are excited about new features that will make care even more family-centered.
