During open enrollment, eligible subscribers may change their coverage for the following year. PEBA wants to help you gear up to select your insurance benefits for 2024. Start thinking now about what changes you might want to make to your insurance coverage. Any changes that you make during open enrollment take effect on January 1, 2025. Open Enrollment begins October 1 and ends October 31 at 11:59pm.
Log into “MyBenefits” - mybenefits.sc.gov - to make your Open Enrollment changes beginning September 15, 2024. Please do not use OurDay to make your Open Enrollment changes for 2024. Open Enrollment changes made in OurDay will not be honored by PEBA.
If you are satisfied with your Health, Vision, Life Insurance and Supplemental Disability coverage, you do not need to do anything. Your coverage will continue in 2025. Please note, if you wish to participate in Money Plus Accounts (Medical Spending or Dependent Care Spending), you must re-enroll for 2025.
Log in to MyBenefits at mybenefits.sc.gov, to make your coverage selections during open enrollment. You will need to register if you don’t already have a MyBenefits account. View our Setting Up a New MyBenefits Account flyer to learn how to register.
Keep in mind that changes to existing dental coverage can be made during open enrollment only in odd-numbered years. If you don’t make changes this year, your next opportunity to make a change will be October 2025 or within 31 days of a special eligibility situation.
Some coverage changes, including enrolling a dependent who is not currently covered under any benefit, require supporting documentation. You can upload documents through MyBenefits. Keep in mind that PEBA must receive the documents by December 1, 2023, to approve the changes.
At the beginning of December 2024, log in to MyBenefits and select Review Benefits from the drop-down list to see your 2025 benefits. If you notice any errors, contact your benefits administrator immediately.
Open enrollment ends October 31, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Once the deadline has passed, you must wait until either the next October or until you have a special eligibility situation. Special eligibility situations occur after life events, such as getting married or having children. Insurance changes must be made within 31 days of a qualifying event.
