Cristina Reyes Smith Top 50 Women Leaders in South Carolina

Women We Admire is pleased to announce The Top 50 Women Leaders of South Carolina for 2022. This group of esteemed individuals are experts in their industry, driving the economy forward economically, educationally, socially, and environmentally. Many are leading at well-established organizations while others are focusing their efforts and energy on growing startup companies. South Carolina is a unique state with a rich history and home to many women role models who are inspiring future leaders to come.

Cristina Reyes Smith, OTD, OTR/L, assistant professor in the Division of Occupational Therapy ranked 38 on the list. 

In addition to her roles with MUSC, Smith serves as a director on the American Occupational Therapy Association Board of Directors and on the editorial board of the Journal of Occupational Therapy Education, and recently joined the Standing for Research Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Committee of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation. She serves as the chair of the MUSC Faculty Senate Institutional Advancement Committee. She also coordinates multiple annual events through the Medical University of South Carolina including the MUSC Culturally Sensitive Care Program and the Septima P. Clark Poetry Contest for children and youth across the state of South Carolina. Smith is a graduate of the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program at Thomas Jefferson University and the Masters in Occupational Therapy program at the Medical University of South Carolina.
