Welcome to the Medical University of South Carolina! We are excited that you have decided to join the MUSC family and the team that is Changing What’s Possible in patient care, education and biomedical research.
It is an exciting time at MUSC as we transform to a preeminent academic health system. To help with your transition to your new role, we are providing you with a brief guide to becoming a new care team member with MUSC Physicians.
Human Resources will load all of your hire details and onboarding tasks in one easy-to-find location. You can login to your Applicant Portal to review all of the necessary steps that you will need to be complete prior to your hire date.
All MUSC care team members will attend a comprehensive orientation on their first day and meet new coworkers while learning more about our organization. You will have the opportunity to hear from many guest speakers who provide training aligned with the mission of MUSC. Lunch will be provided and we encourage you to bring some snacks to keep you charged throughout the day. We will provide coffee and water, but we encourage you to bring reusable drinkware so we can help reduce landfill waste together.
Your department will be scheduling more specific orientation and training after new hire orientation. Your manager will be communicating this schedule to you prior to your first day and many of your classes and assignments will be found in MyQuest, our online learning management system.
Over the first few months, we encourage you to take advantage of the many resources that we offer to stay connected through announcements, news, events, and learning opportunities. We offer social networking in Yammer, important news in the MUSC Catalyst, multiple email communication platforms from our leaders and endless educational opportunities in our learning management system.
