MUSC Health leaders and community partners celebrated the MUSC Health Bluffton Medical Pavilion's official opening. The ribbon-cutting marked a major milestone in expanding access to specialized healthcare in the Lowcountry.
“This ribbon cutting represents an important step forward in increasing access to high-quality, patient-centered care throughout South Carolina,” said Patrick J. Cawley, M.D., CEO, MUSC Health and executive vice president for Health Affairs, University. “By bringing additional cancer and specialty services, we are improving convenience for patients and strengthening the healthcare infrastructure that supports the Bluffton community and surrounding areas.”
The new three-story 54,000-square-foot medical pavilion consolidates existing services in the Bluffton area while introducing new specialties designed to enhance patient care and improve outcomes. Services offered at the pavilion include:
- Adult and pediatric primary care.
- A Hollings Cancer Center satellite clinic with oncology and infusion services.
- Pediatric specialty care and after-hours urgent care.
- Phlebotomy services.
- Pulmonary and sleep lab services.
- Vascular care.
Rapid population growth in Jasper and Beaufort counties increases the demand for accessible, high-quality healthcare. The pavilion improves access to coordinated, multidisciplinary care by bringing a broad range of providers and specialties into a single, convenient location.
“As Beaufort County continues to experience significant population growth, investments like this are critical to ensuring access,” said Rep. Bill Herbkersman. “This new pavilion helps meet the needs of our growing community while bringing more services closer to where people live and work.”
The MUSC Health Bluffton Medical Pavilion opened to patients on June 2.
