Seabrook, S.C. (Dec.12, 2025)-MUSC Health leaders joined donors and local government officials today to celebrate the opening of the new MUSC Health Kiawah Partners Pavilion. The pavilion represents MUSC Health’s commitment to enhancing community access and providing local care to the Sea Islands communities, as the area experiences significant population growth. The facility will be open to patients on Thursday, Dec. 18.
“This ribbon-cutting is more than an opening. It’s a promise to deliver exceptional care close to home. With the area’s first freestanding emergency room and expanded access to primary, cardiology, and vascular services, we’re proud to bring world-class care to this community,” said David J. Cole, M.D., FACS, president of MUSC. “With the nearest hospital more than 20 miles away and a surge of seasonal tourists, this facility fills a critical gap by ensuring timely access to health care services.”
In addition to the freestanding emergency room, the 24-hour medical pavilion, located at 1857 Seabrook Island Road, will include
Trauma and triage rooms.Imaging and radiology services. An on-site laboratory and a helipad for critical cases.A medical office building for services such as physical therapy, infusions and telehealth."This project was born out of a shared belief that every community should have access to quality health care. For more than a decade, we’ve been working towards making that a reality for the Sea Islands,” said Chris Randolph, managing partner at South Street Partners. This private equity real estate investment firm is the owner of Kiawah Partners, the master developer of residential properties on Kiawah Island. “Donating the land for the MUSC Health Kiawah Partners Pavilion was an affirmation of our commitment to these communities, and we’re deeply proud to partner with such an exceptional health care provider to realize this incredible achievement, which has been years in the making."
As part of MUSC Health’s broader strategy, the MUSC Health-Charleston Division has focused on improving community access and delivering local care across the greater Tri-county region and coastal communities to the north and south of Charleston. Since 2019, four new multispecialty ambulatory care centers have opened in West Ashley, North Charleston and Mount Pleasant, expanding the reach of high-quality care. Additionally, MUSC Health plans to open freestanding emergency rooms in 2026 and 2027.
