The Executive Vice President for Finance and Operations provides management and leadership to the various units in the division as well as provides support to the other key missions of MUSC. The Vice President reports to the President of the University. They oversee the operations of the Presidents' Office and are directly responsible for three main university units: Engineering & Facilities, Finance, and Operations.
Some of the many services provided to Faculty, Staff, and Students include; Parking, Transportation, Human Resources Management, Mail Service, Public Safety, Financial operations including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Cashier, Grants and Contract Accounting, Housekeeping, Building, and Grounds Maintenance, Recycling, Printing Services, and more.
MUSC appointed Aaron D. Howell, CPA, MBA, Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations starting December 2025. Howell comes to MUSC from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) in Durham, New Hampshire, where he served as executive vice president for finance and administration. In addition to the responsibilities of a chief financial officer, this role also has oversight of critical administrative functions, including facilities, human resources, hospitality, campus services and the police department.
