Questions About Conflicts of Interest

If you are an MUSC employee and find that you do not have access to the MUSC Cayuse Outside Interests platform, you can submit a User Access request or contact the MUSC Conflict of Interest office at conflicts@musc.edu.

The MUSC Conflict of Interest Office strongly encourages all employees to review the Cayuse Outside Interests User Training guide in OurDay prior to completing/updating their disclosure.

MUSC's conflict of interest related policies can be found under the COI Policies page.

Salaried employees of the MUSC Enterprise and anyone meeting Public Health Service's definition of investigator involved in research activities on MUSC’s behalf must complete a Conflict of Interest Disclosure form annually. Additionally, any employee (including non-exempt/hourly employees) with an economic interest/financial benefit or outside activity related to their MUSC employment is required to submit a Conflict of Interest Disclosure form annually.

Visit the Conflict of Interest Staff page for a list of leaders you can contact to report your concern. You can also call the confidential hotline at 800-296-0269.

If you have questions about your relationship with an outside entity, refer to the Conflict of Interest Staff page for a list of leaders who can answer your questions.

If you receive payment or an honorarium for the talk or reimbursement for travel, you must update your annual conflict of interest disclosure. Prohibited activities include speakers' bureaus and promotional speaking.
