General supplies needed for health outreach!

Another group of courageous and energetic volunteers from MUSC and the Charleston community will head to Ghana for the annual Village Health Outreach. (For background and visuals, please visit the Education Center's Photo exhibit:Portrait of a Village")

We are asking for your support! Many of these items are very inexpensive, can be purchased at local dollar stores, or through the MUSC pharmacy.

General needs are any non-expired supplies or medicines - including:

Over-the-counter (OTC) meds/other supplies:
- Vaseline/KY
- Alcohol swabs
-Tylenol/acetaminophen - Infant, Child, and Adult
-Motrin/Ibuprofen - Infant, Child, and Adult
-Triple antibiotic ointment/cream
-Glucose tabs
-Calamine lotion

Other:
-Pregnancy test kits (can be purchased at Dollar General for near $1 each, we need roughly 300)

Wound care supplies:
-Gauze (assorted sizes), dressing tape, telfa pads, etc
-Bandaids (all/any sizes/shapes)
-Saline flushes (bullets)
-Saline solution
-Cotton-tipped applicators
-Antiseptic creams, solutions, etc

Other OTC consumables:
-Examination equipment:
--Tongue blades
--Gloves
--Hand sanitizer

Pick up/drop off options:

1. Items can be dropped off at the Family Services Research Center, 176 Croghan Spur Rd, Suite 104 between the hours of 8am and 4pm.

2. Items can be dropped off at 135 Cannon Street, on the 3rd floor main desk, labeled "Donation for Project Okurase via Sarah Logan" between the hours of 8:30am - 5pm.
