Can Do GeoCam was an innovative project in Charleston County South Carolina to put cameras on the Space Shuttle so that children could image the earth. GeoCam proved to be such a success that it was expanded into a national project, KidSat. KidSat took the next logical step--for children to use the Internet. Classroom Internet connections give students the opportunity to communicate with NASA to image the earth through the window of the Space Shuttle. KidSat students use the Internet to link their classrooms to the Shuttle as well as to download images and to upload information to the KidSat database. The project is sponsored by NASA, Cal Tech's Jet Propulsion Lab, Johns Hopkins Univerity's Institute for the Academic Advancement of Youth, and is supported by Charleston County School District.
