Soil Testing Available at Earth Day: Bring your Sample!

Before you even start planting, do a soil analysis - bring a soil sample from your garden to get expert advice from Master Gardeners at Earth Day in the horseshoe; download complete instructions:

Once you know what nutrients your soil needs to produce lovely veggies, buy your plants from Legare Farms! Mary from the Urban Farm will help you decide how to lay it out and when to plant each one.

There will be live music and green food choices to enjoy while gathering information about composting, rain gardens, creating habitats for bees and birds, protecting existing habitats and becoming a Park Angel, fishable and swimmable water, saving energy costs, reducing waste, choosing environmentally friendly products and crafts, becoming more sustainable at home and at work and of course recycling more
Many Door Prizes and new this year at Earth Day:
- Environmental Health Exhibit: Research Poster and photographs of Lou Guillette, PhD, Endowed Chair of Marine Genomics work and free copies of the MUSC Coalition for Prevention's Healthy Living Pocket Guide which contains tips for limiting harmful environmental exposure and eating well.
- Tree Care: free Dwarf Evergreen seeds and home directions for planting
- Vertical Aeroponic Gardening: learn how to grow 30% more without dirt
- Solar Energy Solutions: turn-key solar electric and hot water solutions
- Soil Analysis - bring soil sample
- Legare Farms will have vegetable plants, jams, pickles, salsas, and eggs for sale

Sustainability is about being better stewards of our environment. The goal of this event is to provide an educational opportunity for all those who want to lessen their impact on Planet Earth!

Note: All Earth Day vendors and exhibitors are selected for their "green" and sustainable practices. Styrofoam and plastic water bottles are banned from this event.
