Before you even start planting, do a soil analysis - bring a soil sample from your garden to get expert advice from Master Gardeners at Earth Day in the horseshoe; download complete instructions: www.HGIC.clemson.edu
Once you know what nutrients your soil needs to produce lovely veggies, buy your plants from Legare Farms! Mary from the Urban Farm will help you decide how to lay it out and when to plant each one.
There will be live music and green food choices to enjoy while gathering information about composting, rain gardens, creating habitats for bees and birds, protecting existing habitats and becoming a Park Angel, fishable and swimmable water, saving energy costs, reducing waste, choosing environmentally friendly products and crafts, becoming more sustainable at home and at work and of course recycling more
Sustainability is about being better stewards of our environment. The goal of this event is to provide an educational opportunity for all those who want to lessen their impact on Planet Earth!
Note: All Earth Day vendors and exhibitors are selected for their "green" and sustainable practices. Styrofoam and plastic water bottles are banned from this event.
