Vitamin D Study for Overweight Adults

The MUSC Weight Management Center is conducting a 4-year research study to evaluate the effect of taking vitamin D on the prevention of diabetes in persons at high risk for Type 2 diabetes.

Qualified participants will be asked to attend 13 clinic visits, receive education on healthy eating and diabetes prevention, take a study pill daily, and will receive monitoring of their health signs. Participation in the study will last for up to 4 years.

To qualify, you must be at least 30 years old, overweight, be at risk for diabetes (but not diabetic), not be taking any medications for diabetes, and meet other criteria.

There is no charge for participation.
