A Balancing Act: Evaluation, Treatment, and Management of Sex Offenders in the Community

MUSC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the South Carolina Chapter of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (SCATSA) are hosting a one day conference at MUSC for professionals involved in the assessment, treatment, prevention, and management of sexual offending behaviors.

Topics include evidence-based modalities for community and residential-based treatment, assessment/evaluation methods to include use of physiological instruments, issues specific to juveniles who have offended sexually, and the uses and contraindications for medication management including anti-androgens.

Elizabeth Letourneau, PhD, ATSA President-Elect will deliver the keynote presentation.

The South Carolina Board of Examiners in Psychology will approve 5.0 Category A credits.
The South Carolina Board of Social Workers will approve 2.0 hours of designated credit and 3.0 hours of general credit.

The South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists will approve 5.0 hours of continuing education credit.
