As a result of this Grand Rounds, participants will be able to:

- Review the anatomy of the mitral valve
- Describe the two main pathologies of mitral
valve disease: Mitral stenosis and Mitral regurgitation
- Describe the indications to operate for mitral valve pathology
- Review the types of repairs available for the mitral valve
- Describe the outcomes of mitral valve surgery
- Describe who is a candidate for minimally invasive mitral valve surgery
- Describe the outcomes of minimally invasive mitral valve surgery
