Disparities Research and Methods (DREAM) Series Mission Statement:

The mission of DREAM is to provide an arena for reporting ongoing research projects and foster statewide collaborative health disparities research efforts across academic and community institutions.

He received his M.D. from Universidad Autonoma in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Dr. Bagasra completed his residency in Surgical/Anatomical Pathology at Hahnemann University and Temple University and a Fellowship in Clinical Laboratory Immunology at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology, the American College of Forensic Examiners, American Board of Forensic Medicine, American Board of Forensic Examiners and the American College of Clinical Pathology. He is also the Recipient of the Governor's Award for Excellence in Scientific Awareness, 2006 and Winner of the First James E. Clyburn Health Disparities Leadership Award, 2012.

Dr. Bagasra is known for his scientific work in the areas of HIV/AIDS vaccine development, DNA Forensic Science, Prostate and Breast cancer research, and on cause of Autism. His unswerving dedication to his work has resulted in over 200 scientific articles, book chapters, and books. He has authored or co-authored six books and contributed over 30 book chapters. He holds numerous patents and is well known for his invention of in situ PCR technology. He has been recipient of numerous federal and foundation grants.
