Did you know that everything we do is a process? From filling a prescription to preparing a report to rounding on patients, every task we perform is made up of individual steps. By detailing and understanding each step we take, we can learn how to make our work simpler and more efficient. Process Flow Diagrams can help you to fully understand the current condition of any process. Using visual management techniques, Process Flow Diagrams give you the tools needed to map out the steps of the current process and then identify areas for improvement activities. A Process Map, which will be taught in this one-hour course, is one type of a Process Flow Diagram. A Process Map can: a) Provide a better understanding of the current process from start to finish, b) Provide a shared view of the process, and c) Reveal complicated work flows and bottlenecks.
