The Office of Gift Planning at MUSC has designated the month of May as Estate Planning Awareness Month on campus. Every Tuesday and Thursday in May, we'll send out a Broadcast Message with a different topic to help you learn about planning or updating your estate plan.
Keep in mind; estate planning isn't just for wealthy people. And there's more to it than death and taxes. But do you know if you should have a will or a trust or both? How do you accurately give property to children? When do you need to update your estate plan?
Over the next month, we'll help you learn the answers to these questions as well as provide you with resources you may refer to in the future.
You may get a head start on your planning now by visiting the Online Wills Planner on our website. The Online Wills Planner is designed to help you gather the information your attorney will need to plan for your future. The Planner will guide you through a series of questions that will help you identify your estate assets, and your financial goals and needs.
