"Critical Limb Ischemia: An Updated Classification System and its Implications for Therapy"
As a result of this Grand Rounds, participants will be better able to know the following: 1) What are the current classification systems and their advantages and limitations for lower extremity ischemia and the diabetic foot? 2) Has the epidemiology of the diabetic foot ulcer changed and why is this change important? 3) How should one classify a patient with a spectrum of lower limb ischemia, ulceration and infection? 4) Once correctly classified, what are t he implications for therapy and outcomes in patients across the spectrum of LE PAD?
