Please join us for the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry's annual conference, co-sponsored by the MUSC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Topical areas will include strength-based treatment for teens and families, school based services, adolescent participation and associate impact in child custody evaluations, effective responses to sexual abuse, mental illness and behavioral management as they relate to juvenile offending, substance use and sexual risk taking, the adolescent transition to college, findings regarding any differences between adolescents with LGBT parents vs. conventionally-raised adolescents, and discussion of the Roper vs. Simons case. The annual Schonfeld lecture will address new developments in the understanding and treatment of adolescent marijuana dependence.
