The Office of Institutional Effectiveness has purchased access to the webinar below.

Every U.S. state has its own set of rules, regulations and requirements for chartering and authorizing institutions of higher education. However, with the expansion of branch campuses across state borders and accessibility of Internet-based learning, rules, regulations and requirements are continually being reviewed and revised.

As Internet-based learning has grown in both availability and sophistication, the institutions and other organizations offering courses and programs increasingly find themselves battling against an array of laws, regulations, rules and policies at the federal and state levels, and among accreditors and other quality-assurance organizations. This compliance - at best - can be costly, and - at worst - has erected barriers to access.

Between new Federal rules returning to the credit-hour standard, and state laws that require schools that enroll learners in 100% online courses to nonetheless secure a state license, there is considerable fear, confusion and significant misinformation.

Join your colleagues from across the country where we will provide you a summary of the state of all levels of regulation as it affects distance learning and provide a roadmap for navigating the complexities that surround the field.
