Alliance for Hispanic Health

Mission Statement:

“The MUSC Alliance for Hispanic Health embraces campus diversity by bringing together students, healthcare professionals, and community members with the goal of improving health among the local Hispanic community.”

The monthly Speaker Series is open to everyone on the MUSC campus and is an opportunity to hear about available resources directly from those working with the Hispanic community. The AHH encourages members to practice their Spanish language skills in an effort to improve patient care through a partnership with MUSC’s Medical Spanish Interest Group.

Our community service projects include participation in local health fairs (we measure blood glucose levels) community health education projects and events such as Sugar Free Fall Festival.

We also provide interpreter and/or bi-lingual provider services at ECCO, a free MUSC student run clinic in Mt. Pleasant and help Our Lady of Mercy Outreach in Johns Island give aid to migrant farmworkers in the area.

We are always happy to have new members!
