News for SmartStream Financial System users: OCIOIS has completed the upgrade of the Smartstream financials from version 6.05.03 to version 7.02, This upgrade should be transparent to most system users. The major changes to the system involve three areas, ledger, purchasing, and assets. The Ledger upgrade will address year-end automation and is directed at the systems accounting staff. Other ledger functionality will remain the same. The Purchasing upgrade involves the matching process within the purchasing module. At the time of PO entry the purchasing staff will have the option to code a PO as a two-way-match instead of a three-way-match. No receiver will be required on PO’s flagged as a two-way-match. The Asset upgrade will reflect tax changes for the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This act contains several tax incentives for the purchase of energy efficient assets. This version will also allow users to view retired and transferred assets online. Other Internal enhancements include certification for Windows Vista and MSSQL 2005 sp2. The Access 97 to 2003 tutorial has been sent to the SmartStream users group.
