Cellular Telephone Policy

The use of all cellular telephones on the MUSC state contract is limited to official business.  In addition to official business calls, MUSC will consider the following nonbusiness telephone calls as being allowed under this policy:

·     Personal emergency calls when access to another telephone is not possible.  For example, a vehicle breakdown.

·     Emergency calls required for the safety/well-being of the employee or others.  Please note that there are no charges for 911 calls and certain other emergency numbers.

Each cellular telephone access number, with the exception of cellular telephones that are rotated among on-call personnel, must be assigned to a specific department and individual user.  On-call telephones will list a specific department but should list the user as "on call".  All other telephone access numbers must identify an individual as user.

Only one telephone access number may be assigned to any individual user.

Reimbursement for personal emergency calls is the responsibility of the user.  Itemized bills are not provided.
