The purpose of the Technical Issues section is to provide information of everyday practical value to clinicians and researchers using TMS and rTMS. The information might cover advanced techniques or simple physical limitations of current equipment; it may take the form of comprehensive studies or two to three sentences on a particular point.
Some people from the TMS-POD have covered the issue of coil overheating and the restrictions it imposes on clinical use. Their report compares different inter-train intervals and whether they can help reduce shutdowns due to overheating.
The page about mechanisms of stimulation, in the Introduction section, may also be of interest.
Contributions to the Technical Issues pages are welcome in any form. Please contact the site administrator if you are able to provide something.
