I have worked on magnetic stimulation since 1992. I received an MSc in biomedical engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology, Finland, in 1993, and am currently finalizing my PhD thesis. Since 1992, I worked for part of a year in the CNR Centre for Biomedical Engineering at the Polytechnic of Milan, Italy. In 1994, I joined the BioMag Laboratory of the Helsinki University Central Hospital, where I am presently the project leader of a venture that aims at developing computer-assisted TMS for stereotactic stimulation of small cortical patches. Moreover, we have developed and used TMS-compliant EEG to probe the connectivity and reactivity of the cortex. My TMS interests include also modeling, design of specialized coils and development of new technologies.
