I am a Neurology resident at Innsbruck University Hospital, Innsbruck, Austria. I have been interested in Neurophysiology - mainly evoked potentials and reflex studies - since 1988. Since 1989, I have also had experience in transcranial stimulation. Since 1995, I have been responsible for the Evoked Potential laboratory. At present, I am working at the local Department of Psychiatry as part of my clinical specialization. We are in the process of acquiring a new single pulse-/ double pulse-/ repetitive TMS equipment. Naturally, I am most interested in neurological applications of double pulse TMS and rTMS, e.g. in idiopathic and atypical Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and epilepsy. Speech arrest and neuropsychological effects are of interest, as well. But I would also like to take advantage of my present rotation in Psychiatry to initiate a collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry in the field of depression and schizophrenia.
