Mission

Student Health Services is devoted entirely to providing quality health care to the students at MUSC. Services include outpatient treatment for acute and chronic illnesses, preventive health care, and health education.

Emergency Services

For life-threatening emergencies, please call 911. During the hours that SHS is closed, you may need to seek attention for urgent/emergent medical care. You can be seen at Emergency Services, located in the Medical University Hospital. The phone number there is 843-792-3826. A decision to seek medical assistance at the Medical University Hospital Emergency Services should be made carefully, as it may involve significant financial expense. Please take your current student ID and current Health Insurance Information with you. You are financially responsible for any charges/fees not paid for by your insurance. This is not a free service.

Pharmacy Services

Students may get their prescriptions filled at the Medical University Rutledge Tower Pharmacy (876-0199) or the Medical University Ashley Avenue Pharmacy (792-5220).   The Rutledge Tower Pharmacy is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 1 p.m..  The Ashley Avenue Pharmacy is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m..  Medications must be paid for at the time of purchase. Local pharmacies are also an option.
