Hop in bed and roll down to Mary Murray Boulevard in Hampton Park on Sunday, April 14th and enjoy a bit of bedlam at the 4th Annual Charleston Bed Race. At approximately 1:00 pm the race will commence with each team presenting their decorated beds in a grand parade before the judges and spectators. The winning races are determined by the teams' race time and will be judged in heats of two beds completing a distance of approximately two city blocks. Heats will continue until the two fastest beds are determined.
The fun continues until we have a bed race champion team who will reign for the year.
The beds will be judged on the fastest, slowest, best decorated, most outrageously decorated, and the "what were you thinking??" beds. The People's Choice award is everyone's all-time favorite and with $1.00 votes you can help your team win this prestigious award. Last year the Baker Motor team won The People's Choice award with 1200 votes. The refreshment garden will open at noon with an assortment of food by Cast Iron Catering. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the day and all proceeds will benefit Camp Happy Days. Not only does this event bring in thousands of dollars in donations but it also brings attention and awareness to Camp Happy Days and the support it gives to children with cancer.
