Call for 2012 Earl B. Higgins Achievement in Diversity Nominees

MUSC's Office of Student Diversity is pleased to invite nominations for the Earl B. Higgins Award 2012. Submissions must be received by 5PM, EST, February 3, 2012.

We seek nominations for two separate awards:

1. The Earl B. Higgins 2012 Achievement in Diversity Award

2. The Earl B. Higgins 2012 Student Leadership in Diversity Award

Nominations must include the nomination form (included on page two of this document), AND two letters of endorsement on 8 1/2 X 11 paper for each nomination. Please attach letters of endorsement to the nomination form.

Electronic submissions to burnham@musc.edu are recommended. However, packets may also be submitted via fax and mail. Winners will be announced on March 2,2012.

Submit your video in "The Spirit of Recycling"

As part of a national recycling campaign involving colleges and universities across the nation, MUSC has committed these next weeks to "RecycleMania" with a goal of becoming the top academic recycler and trash reducer in the country. Last year's competition included 630 institutions representing 6 million students and over 1.5 million staff and faculty. Included this year is a video competition that gives everyone an opportunity to demonstrate their love for recycling. Starting Feb 5 MUSC will be attempting to collect the largest amount of recyclables. RecycleMania provides an incentive to engage our MUSC community in reducing waste and recycling in a fun and friendly way.

The competition helps create awareness of existing programs and is intended to instill lifelong sustainable habits for participants.
