NOTICE OF DELAY IN THE SPRING 2009 REFUND OF FINANCIAL AID TO THE MUSC STUDENTS As most of you are aware, classes begin January 5th and 6th, 2009 for the upcoming Spring Semester. Because of the start date of classes and the State Holiday schedule, the Office of Student Accounting is notifying all students that refunds for the Spring Semester 2009 will be delayed. Due to federal regulations, the earliest that the Office of Student Accounting can request financial aid loan funds is Wednesday, December 24th (Christmas Eve) and Thursday, December 25th (Christmas Day). However, the lenders are closed for the holidays from December 24th to December 28th. Therefore, it is probable that MUSC will not receive the funds from the lenders until sometime between January 5th and 7th, 2009. If this happens, direct deposit of student refunds would occur between January 6th and 9th, 2009. Students will be notified via broadcast email when the direct deposit is transmitted to the bank. Students who receive paper checks will also experience a delay. Checks will be mailed no later than January 15, 2009. In order to expedite your refund, students are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit through WebAdvisor by December 23, 2008.
