Savannah River Site
The Savannah River Site (SRS) is a key Department of Energy (DOE) facility, focusing on national security work; economic development and technology transfer initiatives; and environmental and waste management activities. Owned by DOE and operated under contract by the Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC), the complex covers 310 square miles, bordering the Savannah River between western South Carolina and Georgia for 27 miles.
