Abstract:  This module introduces the basic clinical concepts of fixed and removable implant restorations. It shows the differences between implant-assisted and implant-supported restorations. It provides the risk factors associated with successful implant therapy for the older patient and explores the advantages and disadvantages of dental implants. It lists the relative factors for contraindications and absolute for implant therapy.
