2004 Summit on Aging White Paper

The first South Carolina Summit on Aging was held last November 2004. This event
brought together participants from the many organizations in our state committed
to gerontology, and did so in a way that embraced the many facets that make up this
complex topic.

The Summit provided participants from various agencies and organizations an opportunity to identify issues, form collaborations, and to make policy recommendations addressing the growing numbers and needs of older South
Carolinians.

Many policy recommendations surfaced from these proceedings. To document the
results of the first Summit, a White Paper has been completed which details the day.
