Office Cleanup Recycling
MUSC Recycling offers a number of special recycling
services to campus offices who are cleaning, moving, or purging
files. We provide extra recycling bins for various types of paper
and we also recycle reusable office supplies. Our recycling services
help you save time, lower disposal cost, and provide environmental
benefits.
Additional Bins and Special
Pick-Ups
If you are cleaning out files, storerooms, etc. and have more
recyclables than your recycling bins can handle, special pick-ups and
additional bins can be arranged. We can deliver containers for
office paper, magazines or catalogs, books, newspaper, and reusable office
supplies. Please call 792-4119 a week in advance to schedule
delivery and pick-up.

Procedures/Materials Accepted
Office materials and papers
should be sorted into the following categories:
Office Paper
Office paper is a valuable commodity for papermills
because it contains strong fibers that can be used again. Most has already been
bleached, so the papermill won't have to use as much bleach the second time
around.
Acceptable

Magazines
Any slick coated paper.
Includes slick coated magazines, catalogs and brochures. Please
recycle magazines separately from other types of paper. Please do not
leave plastic or paper bags in the recycling bins.
Books
Include hardback books and
hardback catalogs. Do not put plastic bound books in with this type
of paper. Do not leave plastic or paper bags in the recycling bins.
Newspaper
Includes traditional newspaper
but also includes booklets that are made of newspaper. Please
recycle newspaper separately from other types of paper. Do not leave
plastic or paper bags in the recycling bins.
Cardboard
Flatten all cardboard
boxes. The housekeeping staff will collect this type of paper and
will recycle it.
Reusable Office Supplies
Exchange
R.O.S.E. Program
Includes but is not limited to
manila file folders, hanging file folders, tape, rubberbands, paper clips,
good paper that hasn't been used, three ring binders, folders, etc.
Campus Mailing
Envelopes
Send all reusable campus mail envelopes to
Mail Services PO Box 250825, for re-use.
Trash
If you have a lot of trash, please contact
housekeeping to have trash carts delivered as well. Please call 792-4119 a week in advance to schedule
delivery and pick-up.
