BIRCWH Leadership

Principal Investigator: Kathleen Brady, M.D., Ph.D

Program Director: Jacqueline McGinty, Ph.D

Steering Committee:

The BIRCWH Steering committee reviews all candidate applications for eligibility and other criteria; screens for diversity in professions, disciplines, backgrounds, gender and ethnicity; and ranks applications. The Steering Committee develops and implements activities such as the journal club, seminar series, workshops/symposia, and relevant courses. This committee monitors and tracks the BIRCWH Scholars’ career development plans and meets with individual scholars and their mentors to ensure that their research experience is interactive and integrated with the program plan and objectives.

Advisory Board:

The BIRCWH Advisory Board meets yearly to evaluate the overall effectiveness of the program, including scholar recruitment, selection and retention, use of program resources, and future research directions and opportunities. The Advisory Board also helps to identify potential alternatives or resources that may accelerate a scholar’s progress toward independent research funding or help remove potential obstacles to productivity and reviews Steering Committee activities and reports, providing input to the PI and Program Director.
