His educational background includes an undergraduate major in psychology and a master's degree in experimental psychology. He completed medical school and psychiatry residency training at MUSC. After a fellowship at the NIMH Psychiatry Education Branch, he returned to Charleston to join the faculty. His long-term tenure at MUSC has provided program stability and facilitated initiatives, which have received several national awards. Dr. Santos is a fellow of the American College of Psychiatrists and the American Psychiatric Association. He has published over one hundred journal articles and three books. He is perhaps best known as the founding member and drummer of "The Psychodynamics - The World's Only All Psychiatrist Rock'n Roll Band." | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
