Dr. Pelic is currently on faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina as an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry. In the College of Medicine, he serves as the Associate Dean for Students. He previously ran a 2nd year medical student Psychopathology course for 4 years that consistently received the highest feedback of any basic science course. In other teaching roles, Dr Pelic served as the 3rd and 4th Year Psychiatry Clerkship directors. Both had been consistently rated as one of the top 3 clinical clerkships in the College of Medicine. Dr. Pelic has also been active as an Associate Residency Training Director. On the clinical side, he works on an adult inpatient service and has done consult work at the Medical University. He plays an integral role on several departmental and College of Medicine Committees. Dr. Pelic completed his undergraduate work at Notre Dame and medical school training at the Medical College of Ohio (now the University of Toledo). He completed his residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is board certified in Psychiatry and has a sub-specialty certification in Psychosomatic Medicine (Consultation Liaison Psychiatry). Dr. Pelic is also licensed to prescribe Buprenorphine. During medical school he was elected to AOA and has received several teaching awards including the 2005 Golden Apple Award for best teacher in the College of Medicine for the Third and Fourth year of medical school. In addition, he received the 2005 Faculty Excellence Teaching Award for the best teacher in the second year of medical school. He has received several other teaching awards. |
