Biographical Sketch

Dr. Aimee McRae is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. McRae completed an ASHP-accredited residency in psychiatric pharmacy and two years of a National Institute on Drug Abuse research fellowship. She is board certified in psychiatric pharmacy practice. In 2001, Dr. McRae received an Early Career Investigator Award from the College on Problems of Drug Dependence. Currently, Dr. McRae has a Mentored Career Development Award (K23) from the National Institute on Drug Abuse focusing on treatment of marijuana dependence. She has also received NIH funding to explore the treatment of comorbid marijuana dependence and ADHD, and has served as PI or a co-investigator on multiple pharmaceutical trials. She has authored or co-authored numerous journal articles and book chapters, focusing primarily on the treatment of addictions and dual disorders.

Substance use disorders, ADHD, anxiety disorders, stress reactivity.
