Biographical Sketch

Deborah Deas, M.D., M.P.H., received her B.S. from the College of Charleston and her M.P.H. from the University of South Carolina.  She completed her M.D. in Medicine and her residency in Psychiatry from the Medical University of South Carolina.  Dr. Deas is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and is the Associate Dean of the College of Medicine Admissions.  She is board certified in adult psychiatry, child/adolescent psychiatry, and addiction psychiatry.  Dr. Deas is currently the Diversity Officer in the College of Medicine, the Director of Adolescent Substance Abuse/Dual Diagnosis Program, and the Clinical Advisor of the College of Medicine Admissions.

   
 
Research Interests

• Pharmacotherapy and psychosocial treatments of adolescents with
   substance use disorders
• Treatment of children and adolescents with attention deficit disorder,
   mood disorders, and co-occurring psychiatric disorders with substance use
