Paths to Recovery: Modulating Putative Depression Circuits Using DBS

At the completion of this session, the participant should be able to:

1)

Recognize reported neuroimaging findings in major depression and variable change patterns associated with different antidepressant treatments.

2)

Understand the rationale for developing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) as a potential new treatment for Treatment Resistant Depression.

3)

Understand the acute and chronic effects of a subgenual congulate DBS on depression symptoms and brain function.
