Predicting, Preventing, and Testing Drug Abuse with Non-drug Incentives

At the completion of this session, the participant should be able to:

1)

Understand the importance of reactivity to non-drug rewards as predictors of drug abuse.

2)

Understand the value of using non-drug rewards to prevent the initiation of dug abuse, to prevent ongoing drug use, and to prevent relapse in abstinent individuals.

3)

Understand the close correspondence between laboratory and animal models of drug abuse behavior and its response to interventions in humans.
