| Psychiatry Grand Rounds | | | « back to March calendar | Patricia Chamberlain, Ph.D. | | | | | Patricia Chamberlain, Ph.D., founded the Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care (MTFC) model to create an alternative to group and residential placements for children and adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral problems in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. She has been the Principal Investigator on nine randomized trials examining the feasibility, efficacy, and effectiveness of MTFC and other community-based intervention approaches. Her research interests include gender influences on outcomes for adolescents and young adults, methods for collecting “real time” data on child functioning in public service system settings, and methods for training and supporting relevant agencies/entities in counties and states to bring evidence-based interventions up to scale so that they are part of routine practice. Dr. Chamberlain is a senior researcher at the Oregon Social Learning Center and at the Center for Research to Practice. | | | | | | | | At the completion of this session, the participant should be able to: | | | 1) Describe the role of risk and protective factors for females with conduct disorders, 2) Discuss treatment implications of risk and protective factors, and 3) Explain why treatments should be multidimensional. | |
