CHARLESTON -- Ben Simon has been named director of tennis programs at the Harper Wellness Center at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), replacing former director JoAnn Lee. Simon, a Toronto, Canada native, is a graduate of Lander College, where he helped the tennis team extend its winning streak of 12 total national championship titles from 1995-1996. Simon was named a two-time NCAA Division II All-American.
Simon joined MUSC's tennis pro staff as junior tennis development director in 2005 and helped coordinate the Ultimate Performance Tennis Academy for junior players. A USTA tennis pro for 14 years, Simon previously worked at Myrtle Beach's Wachesaw Plantation.
