The 182nd commencement of the Medical University of South Carolina will begin promptly at 9 a.m. Friday, May 20, on the campus in front of the James W. Colbert Education Center-Library Building at 171 Ashley Avenue, Charleston, South Carolina. The ceremony may also be seen on closed circuit television in rooms 302 and 402, Basic Science Building, which are air-conditioned. It also will be broadcast on South Carolina ETV.

In the event of adverse weather, the exercises will begin at 11 a.m. on the same day at The Citadel's McAlister Field House. An official announcement concerning alternate plans because of inclement weather will be made from the Office of the President of the Medical University. Professional photographers will take pictures of individuals as they cross the stage to receive their diplomas. Graduates will be contacted by the photographers at a later date concerning the purchase of pictures. The Medical University is not responsible for the quality of the photographs. News media in attendance will also be taking pictures during the ceremony.
