| Dr. Amanda Schutt is
originally from Burkeville,
VA. She completed
pharmacy school
at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia Campus
in 2007.
Prior to attending VCU/MCV, she completed her Bachelor of Science
degree in
Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise at Virginia Tech. After pharmacy
school,
she went on to complete a PGY1 residency at the Medical University of
South
Carolina. Currently, Dr. Schutt is our PGY2 Adult Internal Medicine
resident.
Her clinical areas of interest include Infectious Disease, Cardiology,
and
Psychiatry. Her goals for the year include expanding her knowledge base
in the
treatment of various different disease states within Internal Medicine
such as
heart failure, secondary stroke prevention, pulmonary hypertension,
cirrhosis,
and HIV. Dr. Schutt will work in the heart failure clinic this year and
plans
to present pulmonary hypertension and cirrhosis for her seminar and
interactive
teaching experience. In her free time, Dr. Schutt enjoys going to the
beach
with friends, playing kickball or volleyball with her co-residents, and
jogging
along the beautiful waterfront in Charleston. |
