Statement
The
College of Pharmacy of the Medical University of South Carolina
promotes pharmaceutical care to the citizens of South Carolina and the
nation through its fundamental commitment to education, service, and
research by educating and training pharmacy professionals and research
scientists in an optimal environment for learning and discovery, as
well as providing educational opportunities for South Carolina
pharmacists to promote lifelong learning.

The
College of
Pharmacy of the Medical University offers its students the unique
opportunity of training at an institution dedicated to the education of
health professionals. The college is intimately affiliated with the
various departments in other colleges of the university and stresses
the role of the pharmacist as an integral member of the total health
care team. The student is trained to be a drug consultant who is
directly involved with patients, physicians, nurses,
dentists, and allied health practitioners.
