Continuing Education

The mission of the College of Pharmacy includes assisting its alumni and other pharmacists to maintain and
enhance their professional knowledge and skills. To fulfill this mission, the College provides a variety of professional
continuing education opportunities. The variety of opportunities is made possible both by programs directly produced
by the College and by co-sponsorship with other organizations of programs relevant to pharmacists. The programs range from the relatively brief (1-2 hour) single topic "update" programs to comprehensive Disease Management Certificate programs. Perhaps the most unique programs are the televised Pharmacy Update series which can be seen at the more than 20 state-wide sites of the Health Communication Network. Videotapes of past telecasts are available for purchase or rental for individual home study.

Pharmacists' Learning Assistance Network (P.L.A.N.®)
The Pharmacists' Learning Assistance Network (P.L.A.N.®) is a continuing pharmacy education information service provided to pharmacists through Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. A computerized compilation of all continuing pharmacy education programs offered by ACPE-accredited providers serves as the database for the service. The P.L.A.N.® service has been developed to allow pharmacists the opportunity to pursue a curricular approach to professional development through organization and planning of their continuing pharmacy education needs. In addition, since most states recognize ACPE-accredited providers, programs listed with the P.L.A.N.® service may satisfy pharmacists' continuing pharmacy education requirements.  The ACPE P.L.A.N.® service is accessible via the ACPE's web site (http://www.acpe-accredit.org/pharmacists/programs.asp) or by phone at (800) 533-3606, Monday through Friday, 9AM to 4PM Central time.
