Receptor Mechanisms mediating bradykinin actions to increase outflow facility within eyes.
My current research focuses on determining the time and dose-response relationship of bradykinin-induced increase in outflow facility in perfused anterior segments. The studies will explore the early cell signaling events involved in bradykinin effects on MMP and TIMP secretion through investigating the effects of bradykinin on the secretion of MMP-1, -2, 3 and -9 and TIMP effects. Another aim of the investigation includes the interaction between bradykinin and PGE2 in increasing outflow facility in perfused anterior segments and the mechanism by which bradykinin enhances PGE2 signaling in trabecular meshwork cells.
