Dermatopathology
Fellowship Program:
This is an
accredited one-year training program offered by the Departments of
Dermatology and Pathology. Emphasis is placed on morphology and
correlation with clinical findings but there is also ample opportunity for
research. A resident with a dermatology background receives six months of
training in anatomic pathology in the areas of surgical pathology,
cytopathology and autopsy which is integrated through the year. For the
resident with previous pathology training, participation in dermatology
clinics, rounds and clinical conferences is expected in addition to the
study of morphology and mechanisms of skin disease. The faculty includes
Dr. John S. Metcalf, and other members of the faculties of the Departments
