Dermatopathology Fellowship


Program: This is an accredited one-year training program offered by the Departments of Dermatology and Pathology. Emphasis is placed on morphology and correlation with clinical findings but there is also ample opportunity for research. A resident with a dermatology background receives six months of training in anatomic pathology in the areas of surgical pathology, cytopathology and autopsy which is integrated through the year. For the resident with previous pathology training, participation in dermatology clinics, rounds and clinical conferences is expected in addition to the study of morphology and mechanisms of skin disease. The faculty includes Dr. John S. Metcalf, and other members of the faculties of the Departments of Dermatology and Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
Requirements: Board certification or eligibility in anatomic pathology or dermatology. Applications should be received by January 1st of the year preceding the year of the fellowship (18 months prior to the beginning of the fellowship).
Stipends: Commensurate with the level of postgraduate training.
