Faculty and Staff

Board certified in family medicine and geriatrics, Dr. William Simpson has been Medical Director of the division since 2002 and was associate medical director for 14 years prior to that. A graduate of Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Simpson provides updates in pesticide toxicology, food quality, tick-borne diseases, mental disorders in primary care and other related topics to a wide range of audiences including health professionals, industry, consumers, extension and research organizations. He serves as an editorial consultant and reviewer for seven medical journals and has published more than 60 articles and one book.
   
Dr. Stanley H. Schuman joined the Department of Family Medicine in 1973 from the faculty of the University of Michigan. He serves as Emeritus Professor of Family Medicin and Emeritus Medical Director of the Agromedicine Program of Clemson and MUSC, having co-founded the program in 1984. Dr Schuman has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals and several books.
   
JoAnn Stukes, Administrative Specialist, has been with the Division since 1983. She is responsible for phone consultation information, office procurement, coordinating conferences and travel arrangements, and assisting Drs. Simpson and Schuman. JoAnn also coordinates the OEM rotation for family medicine residents.
